PRODIGAL SUN

MARCH 2025

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

A couple of times I’ve heard parts of a song which go, “One day He’ll come and we will stand face to face.” Consider the reality and the depth of that simple, yet profound, statement. Each of us will stand face to face with the One who came to earth to wipe away all of mankind’s sin and to seat them in an eternal kingdom that knows no type of death or corruption. That is, IF  we have acknowledged our sin and asked Him to forgive us. I believe that most, if not all, of those reading this have asked Jesus into their life. It is to us I want to address this next part.

When we stand face to face with Jesus what will be our response be? Will we want to run off as Peter did? There will be no running away from this meeting so will there be shame as we look into those loving eyes and remember our selfishness over the years? Will we hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant?” Our salvation is not based on our works, but our dedication to Him as evidenced by our lifestyle.

The depth of that ‘standing face to face’ and looking into His eyes is where I’d like to stop this month’s issue. The impact of this upcoming event in all of our lives is so real I don’t want anything to ‘gloss’ it over. Take some time to consider what this may be like for you.

Would you change the course of anything or anyone in your life knowing that your time to face Him was imminent? Would you run out to visit that person you’ve thought about for weeks, even months? Would you fulfill a promise to someone that has been on your heart for quite awhile? Maybe you need to ask someone to forgive you.

It is time for us to step into harness with the One who is closer than a brother, closer than sister,

father, or mother; closer even than of a spouse.

In over seventy-six years of living He has never failed me once, even in my rebellion and disobedience. Nothing and no one this world has to offer will ever compare to the glory offered

us in His Presence.

Read Matthew 25: 31-46 for lifestyle tips.                                   Blessings….
